Aurangabad is the only tourist district of India having two-world heritage monuments to its credit. It was named after Aurangazeb, the last Mughal Emperor. Barring the heritage monuments of Ajanta, Ellora, Daulatabad and Bibi-Ka-Maqbara the district is rich in monuments, historical and religious, of National importance. Hence, it deserves the epithet as Tourist District of India. Realizing its International Status the erstwhile central Minister for Tourism and Culture rightly praised the tremendous tourism potentiality of this district in one of the International Press- Met.
Apart from the historical importance, Aurangabad is one of the fastest growing cities in India. Known as an Industrial Hub for Maharashtra State, the city has been witnessing the changes of Modernisation and is now home to many Malls, Multiplexes and Supermarkets. Home to the Industry Giants like Videocon, Bajaj, Skoda etc., it is also known as an educational hub and is fast becoming the preferred destination for the industry and students alike.
