College of Agriculture & Biotech  The Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is promoted by Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) Trust. The Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust was founded with a vision to improve the Educational, Health and other Social needs of the public in general since 1983. In fact, MGM does not limit itself when it comes to serving for the advancement of public in general. To live by its aims and objectives, the trust has promoted many Educational Institutions and Health Services. Overall MGM Campus consist of 70 Acres landscape and is full of natural beauty, shady trees and is having the comfortable sitting arrangement under these trees which naturally creates and promotes studious environment.MGM visualized the density of the field of life science resources and career which will be helpful in the area of research. Through the keen interest MGM aimed to establish the department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.  In the year 2001-2002 the department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics was established with the vision to  provide knowledge-based technological services to satisfy the needs of society and the industry with the help of Biotech areas. The department had laid its first milestone with the course of diploma Bioinformatics (PG Diploma in Bioinformatics).  With the intake of 20 students the course was completed satisfactorily. Then in the year 2002-2003 with the affiliation under Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University PG course M.Sc. Biotechnology was started which was a biggest milestone of MGM in the area of Biotechnology. The course was started with the intake of 20 students. The college was started with limited resources and laboratory facilities. In the year 2004-05 MGM launched a course B.Sc. Agricultural Biotechnology under the affiliation of Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. With the launch of this course the department of biotechnology and Bioinformatics become crown in the area of Marathwada region. A small root turned into an huge tree with all the branches. In the year 2005-2006 MGM visualized the urge of field of informatics. Keeping the attitude to excel the field of biotechnology, the course of M.Sc. Bioinformatics was launched under the affiliation of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Now MGM is well established in the field of research in the area of biotechnology and Bioinformatics with well equipped R & D laboratory to excel the name of Mahatma Gandhi Mission on the globe. This institute with the impartment of new academics procures the moral and ethical values of golden Indian culture and support India to become a leading nation.
