M.N.G.O

Mahatma Gandhi Mission received the Status of Mother Non-Government Organization in 2006 for Nanded district from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Government of India.
The Scheme aims at strengthening the role of these NGO’s not only in creating awareness and demand generation but also service delivery for contributing towards reducing Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Total Fertility Rate (TFR) under Reproductive and Child Health Programme.

The Role of M.N.G.O.

To identify under served and un served areas in the district with help of District Health Officer.
To place advertisements for selection of Field NGO.
To conduct a baseline survey with the help of F.N.G.O. in the given areas.
To provide training to F.N.G.O. to conduct baseline survey (B.L.S.)
To Provide F.N.G.O, I.E.C. Material.
Capacity development of F.N.G.O.’s.
To develop project proposals from F.N.G.O. and obtain grant from District Umbrella Society.
To liaison with district level officers and co-ordinate network with them.
To monitor work conducted by F.N.G.O.’s
Submission of tri-monthly reports to district R.C.H. Society and State RCH Society.

M.N.G.O. has selected 3 F.N.G.O. for service delivery in under-served and un-served areas.

This program proposes to cover approximately 35675 people from 32 villages and 6 sub centers under 3 P.H.C. areas.

100% intensive ANC Coverage.
100% Children receiving all preventive services.
100% of the children will receive referral support for identified problems.
Increase contraceptive services for eligible couples for increasing couple protectionRate.
