Mahila Bachat Gut

Globally acclaimed Nobel Laureate & Economist of Bangladesh Prof. Mohammad Yunus, initiated the program of entrepreneurship development with a social objective, which gained momentum in India in the last couple of years. This program was consistent with the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi Mission, therefore through Mahila Bachat Guts steps were taken to finance women who intend to support their families or want to be independent earners. The concept of micro credit is based on extension of small loans as working capital to these women who lack right resource and direction, are not eligible for conventional bank loans for self-employment, thereby utilizing their potential.
In April 2007 MGM sponsored about 100 Mahila Bacht Guts consisting of about 11 women in each Bachat Gut who took up the activites of self employment and empowerment. Mahila bachat gut manufactures disinfectant, chalk sticks, garments, children wear, food items, stationery, bio fertilizer, handmade paper etc.

Center of Gandhian Thought and action

Gandhian thought and action center propagates the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi with initiatives such as sut katai, weaving khadi and Paithani etc.
The centre facilitates sut katai and weaving khadi cloth by local workers. It also arranges workshop for students from all over Maharashtra to propogate the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
