Rural Health
Rural Health Care is the prime objective of the MGM. With a view to serving the economically weaker sections of the society MGM concentrated its focus on catering to the health of people. Nanded district has been identified as an area where people are economically very weak, hence unable to avail proper and prompt medical facilities. In order to provide health care facilities the MGM conducts free health check up camps for all with a special emphasis on children, women and old people. Along with regular check-up children are given vaccines at regular intervals. Cataract operations and free goggles for the old are a main feature of MGM’s health care services. Women are given education about child care. This mammoth task is being looked after by Dr.B.L. Amrutwar since 35 years.
Shri. Ankushraoji Kadam established the Rural Hospital in 1984 for the benefit of the weaker sections of the society. Volunteers inform people about the free medical services which include check-up, medicines and surgery and bus facility. Food is also provided to the patients who are admitted in the hospital. Phone numbers of the hospital and Dr. Amrutwar have been made available to the people so that he can reach them at the earliest. In the year 2000, free bus service was started for carrying patients to the hospital. In case of death of a patient, ambulance service is provided for carrying the body up to the village. 20.000 patients have availed the services of MGM’s health care centers. |
